Healthy French Toast

Health Fun Fact

I genuinely believe that the most important thing in nutrition is the quality of the ingredients and the food you’re making. French Toast made with organic whole ingredients like sourdough, milk, eggs and coconut sugar is a much different food than typical diner French Toast made with corn syrup (artificial human manufactured sweetener), vegetable/seed/canola oil (artificial sludge created with dozens of chemicals and toxins), and white bread (which typically contains both corn syrup and canola oil). Any food can be made healthy and nutritious as long as we use the right ingredients! Food is our body’s fuel and we absorb every ingredient that we put into it

What better way to start off this weekend eve than with healthy French Toast!! Sweetened with coconut sugar and vanilla extract, with a little burst of protein from the eggs and milk, this sweet treat won’t spike your blood sugar levels like regular French Toast made with refined sugar would!

Recipe

Servings: 2+ servings

Ingredients:

  • 2 pasture-raised eggs

  • 2/3 cup organic whole milk

  • 1 tbsp organic coconut sugar

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1/2 tsp of cinnamon

  • As many bread slices as you like until you finish the mixture! I love using sourdough bread for this - if you haven’t tried it with sourdough, give it a try and let me know!

 Instructions:

  1. Whisk all the ingredients in a bowl

  2. In a pan, heat some organic butter over medium heat

  3. Dip each slice of bread in the batter, making sure it’s fully saturated. Fry in the pan for about 1 minute on each side until it’s golden brown

  4. If you have any leftover batter, just store it in a Tupperware in the fridge and use it within a few days!

  5. Enjoy! 💛
