Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal

Health Fun Fact

I always recommend buying organic oats! Oats are a crop that’s notoriously sprayed with pesticides (especially with the worst pesticide of all, Glyphosate — this very common pesticide has been proved to be a carcinogen, cause inflammation, mitochondrial disfunction and oxidative stress). That’s why I always look for Glyphosate-free organic oats whenever I buy oatmeal. I personally love the One Degree Organic Foods sprouted oats!

Whether it's fall outside or it's just a gloomy day and you're in the mood for something warm and comforting for breakfast, healthy cinnamon oatmeal with caramelized apples is the perfect recipe for you!

Recipe

Servings: 1 bowl of oatmeal

Ingredients:

  • 1 small/medium organic apples

  • 1/2 tbsp coconut oil

  • 1/2 tbsp maple syrup

  • 1/3 cup organic gluten-free oats

  • 1/2 cup almond milk of choice (look for as few ingredients as possible, I like Three Trees)

  • 1 tbsp of organic greek yogurt

  • 1 tbsp almond butter

  • toppings: hemp hearts, bee pollen, cacao nibs, cinnamon

 Instructions:

  1. Cut up apples into small squares

  2. In a pan over medium heat, heat up coconut oil, and sautée the apples for a few minutes. A few minutes in, add about the maple syrup and sautée for a few more minutes

  3. Add desired amount of oats, and about 1/2 cup of almond milk/milk of choice

  4. Cover for a few minutes, stir oats, then lower heat and let them cook for a few more minutes

  5. Transfer to a bowl, mix in with Greek yogurt, almond butter, hemp hearts, cinnamon, bee pollen and cacao nibs! Enjoy 🤍
