Turkey Bacon + Scrambled Eggs Breakfast

Health Fun Fact

Let’s talk about BUTTER! Butter is commonly labelled as an unhealthy food by modern society and many fad diets, but in reality it is an incredibly healthy source of fat and nutrients! Our ancestors have been using butter for thousands of years, and it’s a very healthy fat to cook with (instead of using toxic seed/vegetable oils that are highly inflammatory and chemically manufactured).

Organic, grass-fed, raw butter is a natural source of vitamin A, D, K and E (all fat-soluble vitamins), calcium, and short and medium-chained fatty acids which help boost the immune system! Butter is frequently given a bad rep because of its saturated fat content, but there is actually zero scientific studies to show that the saturated fat from butter causes any sort of disease - but there’s plenty of studies that show that vegan butters and butter alternatives like margarine, which contain PUFAs (polyunsaturated fatty acids), cause a plethora of health diseases, such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, obesity, IBS, cancer and more.

Sourcing for butter is important, so if you can find an organic butter that’s made from grass-fed dairy, that’s the best option!

This is a delicious breakfast that’s high in protein & easy to make! Cooked in organic, grass-fed butter, this meal is a nutritional powerhouse and the perfect way to start your day!

Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 slices of organic, uncured turkey bacon cooked in organic, grass-fed butter

  • 2 pasture-raised eggs (see one of my older posts for the importance of pasture-raised eggs) cooked in organic, grass-fed butter

  • carrot and apple salad (I had this leftover from dinner the night before — recipe is on @cookwithangelika’s Instagram page)

 Instructions:

  1. Preheat organic butter in a pan

  2. Add turkey bacon to pan — cook for a few minutes on each side until it’s a little browned

  3. After removing the bacon from the pan, add a little more butter and crack 2 eggs into it

  4. Sprinkle eggs with some salt & pepper

  5. Cook eggs on both sides but keep the yolk still runny (or however you like it cooked)

  6. Remove eggs from the pan, add whatever other sides you wish (like the carrot apple salad), and enjoy! 🤍
